Mark Loon
Dr. Mark Loon is a faculty member at Bath Business School, Bath Spa University. He holds a PhD and a DBA as well as an MBA. His expertise is in organisational behaviour and his primary research area is in the use of technology in learning and teaching in higher education, learning in the workplace, higher-order thinking dispositions, and leadership development. His secondary research area is within the organisational context that includes organisational learning and change, dynamic capabilities, and business model innovation.
Mark Loon has published in various academic journals such as the Journal of Managerial Psychology, as well as practitioner reports and books. He is currently the Chair of the British Standards Institute's Human Capital Standard Sub-Committee on developing International HRM Standards and the Deputy Vice Chair of the Programmes and Qualifications committee within the University Forum on Human Resource Development.
Mark Loon is also an associate editor with the International Journal of HRD Practice, Policy and Research, and the Journal of Economic and Administrative Sciences. Prior to academia, he was in management consulting, working for firms such as Cap Gemini, Ernst & Young and KPMG. He had his own company in Sydney, Australia providing consulting and business analysis services to clients such QBE, AMP, Morgan Stanley and the University of Sydney. He has counted the governments of Malaysia and Indonesia. He is trained in Six Sigma at Black Belt level.
